Our thoughts, conscious or not, are a form of energy that creates our emotions. Our emotions are what dictate what action we will or will not take. Often, our attempts to achieve results through willpower, positive thinking and affirmations fall short because we haven't objectively called awareness to our thoughts and the resulting emotions. We know we want an outcome in a particular situation, make some progress, but eventually we get 'stuck' and feel like we've failed. Without full awareness of our thoughts, the cycle of starting and restarting toward a goal repeats, over, and over, and over again.
With today's mindfulness movement, activities such as meditation and yoga can help us connect within, be more present, and bring awareness to how many thoughts we have. Being present is a cornerstone of achieving inner peace. However, presence does not necessarily help us dive deeper into our thoughts, explore why we are thinking what we think, or uncover how those thoughts are the energetic source of our emotions and the actions (or inaction) we take.
The good news is that we all have the ability to uncover our thoughts and consciously edit them. It is empowering to have an Aha! moment and realize that we are actually creating our own reality. Better yet, when we decide to edit our thoughts, we begin to see shifts in our emotions, behavior, and in our lives. It can be, and often is, a magical experience.
Believe you can and you're halfway there. ~ Theodore Roosevelt

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them. ~ Albert Einstein
